24 Reasons (Mal) Why They’re Starving While Others Gain Billions; tape (1996)

‘24 Reasons’ was a hardcore band from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was the band of Shammir Maarof who runs Basement recs and a record-store. The others in the band were Ajekt (guitar), Azrin (bass) and Epit (drums). I believe Shammir sent this for review. The tracks were re-released on vinyl (7″) in 2014.

My review in Tilt! #9: >>What a relief to notice that in this far-East ‘economic tiger’ there are still young people that are questioning the capitalist system; just read the lyrics. The music is straightforward HC with a metal edge that rocks. Sometimes this reminds me of early ‘Attitude Adjustment’: rough but powerful and with some nice hooks. More than just good.<<
